Hi,
I'm trying to choose a good quad-packaged Op_amp for an Audio Preamplifier/Distribution Amplifer (mentioned in a separate posting). Does anyone have any favorites, especially any from National Semiconductor?
Cheers, BC

the cheapest is the lm837n for 25cents each. low noise ect... there are better, but i like em for the price.
The thread starter asked about good opamps not necessarily cheap ones.JOE DIRT® said:LOL...I just mentioned the cheap ones
Price not a problem
I'm not too worried about the price - I'll only need a few chips. My 2 priorities are Audio Quality and "Robustness". I don't want anything that's likely to fail during my attempts at assembly on veroboard.

Quads! Not duals......
I would not use any op-amp with a TL or MC in front of it for any application.
AD713 comes to mind.......a quad 711.

Audio - Audio Operational Amplifier - LME49740 - TI.com
Looks good, +/- 15V working and specified into 600R load, sensible price. What about this: LME49740

55 MHz GBW could be tricky if the layout is poor.
Lme49740 in to99 package. Pretty sure that's a quad. I normally use the dual 49720
Ne5532 is almost as good and more manageable GBWP. For precision id use op07, but its maybe too noisy for a preamp, depending on the gain you want to use.
