Good oscilloscope multimeter capacitor tester

Hantek and Owon are respectable companies. You can’t compare their products to some scam sold on Amazon by shoddy sellers and not sold by Amazon or other reputable company. Banggod is OK.

Can’t imagine more professional dissection: EEVblog

There you can find a lot about Hantek as well.
I’m using more advanced Hantek scopemeter and it is a very high quality product.
YouTube ‘reviews’ can be helpful as well.

I see. Ideally I need a scope to check smoothness of sine waves from an inverter, clipping signal in an amplifier.

Send a signal into an amp and see what the amp is putting out. I have few cheap testers around.

I am a beginner and doubt I will use any advanced functions. Some scopes I've seen don't have ac signal generator. Only dc. I definitely need this function to check how well the amplifier is amplifying the signal right?

I use an old B&K LCR meter. E-bay used.

Most PC scopes are DC only, I found out the hard way, so I am hacking a Hantech for ac coupling. For $60 , why not. 20M is enough for audio. ( My old Tektronix died)

A signal generator is not the function of a scope. Most of us use a PC app. I guess some fancy ones have one. They have added all kinds of fancy measurement capabilities that cost tens of thousands of dollars when I was a beginning lab rat. I think the Nicolet was 50K as the first digital scope. The Hantech blows it away.

If you only need to 20Khz, you can make up a voltage divider probe with protection diodes for about $5 and use ZELSCOPE on your PC sound card. I think it costs $10. There are free spectrum analyzers too.
