This is a new thread I am starting to hopefully help explore an emerging option in the DIY world. Many people have begun experimenting with off the shelf LCD Monitors and how this applies to projection. I myself am mainly interested in knowing what successes/failures people have had. I think it would be good if the majority of the chat was left in the LCD panels thread, and we just leave this thread for the following things:
Specific Brands and Models
Success/Failure
Type of modification and diffficulty (ie; boards moved/ wire modifications
Pictures of actual process and results
Of the few succeses I have seen, I am really convinced that this is the way to go, especially with dropping lcd monitor prices, I hope this thread gives others hope too.

Why don't you read through the forum? All of the information you could ever hope for is here... you just have to look...

I think this is a good idea, if it could be kept from people putting messages like this one on here and only keep it to the facts and not question asking, Sorry, but looking for something you have to go though a lot of personal messages that have nothing to do with what the theads are about, I'm done now.

I think a good solution would be if somebody had a web site or an FAQ with all the info on it. Or if someone posts a chart. Forums are great for colaborating, but for specific facts, I think some documents are in order.
I have a site like that in the works, but i need to finish DIY PJ Version 2 first... man that sounds so fancy... I'm even going to host the site myself using redhat! I love Linux 😀 !
