I speed read that, but if i recall that looks right... It took me 10 minutes of tring to remember math class, but was not to hard to convert. I found that a 10,000 mcd led with a viewing angle of (i think) 15,000 was about 2 lumens (when rounding up). I'll try o dig up my work so you guys can check it.
I was looking at those MH-DE400/TD/4K bulbs on the yellertwo page link above this.. and they seem pretty nice 36000 initial lumens and I found them for less than $50 on other pages, BUT I am looking for some input on the size of the arc source. The (actual light source of these bulbs) not the jacket, look really similar to the Mogul bulbs everyone is using and Ive tried myself and been disappointed with.
I guess what Im really wondering is will a 250W hqi bulb with less than 20000 lumens but small pin point light source be brighter than a 36000 lumens 400w bulb with a larger arc source using a similar reflector.....

allan at DIYLABS explains why ( HE THINKS) its better...i think its better because of its size advantages, i dont know about the brightness though...maybe you can put this closer to the LCD and gain more lumens take a look at his results page where someone is using a 150 watt HQI and it looks good.
