The old dog Weller is not dead but the insulation on the cord to the iron is old and repaired in several places.
I now have a shiny new Hako 936 B from Fry’s for $75 US sitting next to it on the bench.
Here is the question. Assuming that calibration is correct on the heat setting of the 936 what temperature do I set the dial for 63% SN 37% Pb solder, 390 degrees F, 30 higher than the melting point of the solder?
Kind of a survey question!
