Hey folks,

I'm looking for a good book/article on tips and techniques to use an oscilloscope in diagnosing tube amp problems like hum, oscillation etc. I already read the tectronix article but I'm looking for something more specific to tube circuits. Any suggestions?

There are a couple of books on the subject on Pete Millett's fantastic site in the technical books section. Scroll down about 1/4 th the page. Maybe these will have some useful info for you.

Best, Wade

~ Thank you, Pete. ~

All good stuff guys! sklimek, what did you end up getting? I have ancient eico scope and I'm going to make an upgrade soon.

I got a beautiful tek 465, it came from an University professor, fully loaded with probes, I got lucky, this scope was loved.

In case you haven't searched around there are some good threads here on which 'scope' to purchase and what to look out for.

I also found this for video training, I ordered it but can't speak for it yet.

Good luck!
