Seeing duncans mention Stewart of Reading, certinly brings back fond memories. My first trip there, ca 82-83, resulted in a Philips 3217 scope. Paid £500 for it and it still runs! Amazing. On trip nr 2, I bought 40 pcs of 47000/40V lytics, the exact size of a beercan. Long story short, I was apprehended by the customs, having a devil of a time trying to tell tem they were caps, not grenades! Not one of them were usable, had to throwm them all away, BUT what I remember very fondly is Beryl, and her son, Dwayne. Over the years I visited maybe 6-8 times. Always the same warm and courteous treatment. They will stay in my memory.

Why is it that all of the Goldmund clone threads end in silence? Is GM sending out assassins?? Or are the builders so enraptured with the sound that they give up all desire for "audio" as a hobby and are simply enjoying the music?? 🤷
