Luxury!4 weeks in the Stocks with nothing but a Dansette record player and a scratched mono recording of Andy Williams blaring out continuously in the left ear!
We had 19 light-years listening to a worn shellac of Mario Lanza's next-door neighbour's tone deaf child whistling the theme to Gone with the Wind , whilst we were being pierced
in unmentionable places with spent steel styli heated over a rush taper.
Try telling that to young people these days and....

Within the attached articles by "adason" an observation relating to speakers directionality makes it clear, below 200 Hz. it is difficult to identify where the sound source is.
The article also points to lower power levels needed for decent SPLs at mid and higher frequencies. This should make relieving the load of the BC1's a lot easier. The Spendor A5r's low bass driver has what the manufacturer states is a "Ultra - light composite Kevlar Piston" which is said to result in pin sharp response timing. So, I think I can rely upon it to "Beef - up" the bass response and eliminate the woolliness of the BC1 at low frequencies due to cabinet "Flex" - (Cabinet rigidity sacrificed for the sake of mid - range clarity).
It should be possible to determine at what point cabinet flex starts to affect bass frequency response, to ensure the final crossover point is comfortably away from it, whilst still remaining away from where the A5r starts to indicate some directionality - if that makes sense?
