WARNING: Tube/Valve amplifiers use potentially LETHAL HIGH VOLTAGES.
Building, troubleshooting and testing of these amplifiers should only be
performed by someone who is thoroughly familiar with
the safety precautions around high voltages.
Another possibility would be to use non-corrosive silicone sealant to glue a piece of silicone/glass composite sleeving around the plate contacts once the wires are soldered in place on the socket - neat, sweet, no fuss.
I built my GM70 sockets using drilled out teflon septar sockets . Contacts are modified bullet crimps and the whole thing is held together with a teflon disc and fixings . A few of these are available if required
