I wanted to use a 3d printer but when I asked some questions on a forum for the 3d modeling software I was learning, they wanted to know if I was using it for commercial purposes. I told them the truth, that I do plan to try and sell stuff if I get anywhere with this, and they said I had to buy the software and not use the free version and that was the last help I got. Its fair. A lot of work goes in to making those programs and the developers should be compensated. So I'm building stuff by hand.
