do these "glass passivated plastic rectifiers" degrade over time? i read that selenium diodes build up resistance as they age and that they can "fail dramaticaly".
they are in a ka-601 kenwood amplifier.
thanks

"glass passivated plastic rectifiers" = silicon diodes. As reliable as anything if kept within ratings.
The glass passivation is just a coating (glass) over the silcon chip to keep moisture out. The plastic packages don't do a very good job of that. In hermetic metal packages, they may skip the passivation to keep capaciatnce down.
