I wonder if sum1 can give me advice on how to fix ghosting problems which I am having its only a ever so slight problem but it bugs me for example when you see white writing on black colour it doubles there is like an outline of it I am using a nview spectra c and a OHP with a 400w bulb can anyone help an inexperienced guy out.
cheers.
cheers.
try different cables. go to best buy and buy some good cables. if it fixes your problem then you're set. if it doesnt just return the cables, no money wasted. ghosting is usually caused by cheap bad cables. maybe try a different video source (other dvd).

whats your OHP Skanders?
im having ghosting too 🙁 it started after i installed my HQI so im thinking i didnt position it right or its the LENS. my wires are fine, when i push back the OHP arm a it then the problem seems to go away but the OHP arm cant stay that way.
I suggest you get a better lens, i doubt its the lcd.
But the problem is acceptable in my case i only get ghosting on titles and lettering, other than than i cant notice it.

another member has fixed this problem by cleaning the lens on the ohp and the lcd panel but i have not got round to do this as I have been too busy so I am getting other ideas to try before hand try this and see what happens.
I belive its a reflection off the top glass on your projection panels. If the glass isnt perfectly clean you will get that glare. I still have the same problem, but I,m just lazy, I hardly ever clean the optics right.
also which cable is the best to use cause on my spectra c I have 3 connections a monitor optional connection / digital connection and a analog connection which i am currently using could it be that I am using the wrong one and that is what is causing the ghosting.
one more thing i am also using a monitor extension cable as i cannot reach the computer without using it that could be another factor.
Cleaned and cleaned everything the over head glass and fresnel still got ghosting although I have noticed a couple of scratches on the reflector in the overhead could this be the problem if so is there anywhere I can get one.
I dunno, I had slight ghosting problems with my old setup, and I assumed it was the panel, but later found out it was the optics. I bought a triplet lens and a new fresnel and the picture was much sharper and ghosting was not an issue. Cleaning the lenses, mirrors, and glass helps too. lol🙄
Another likely reason for ghosting
One thing that can ghosting is the mirror that you're using. I don't necessarily recommend going to a front-surface mirror unless you have the extra money to spend, though. I think that in the case of DIY enclosures, changing the angle of the mirror slightly should do the trick since the ghosting most likely has to do with the angle of refraction of the glass your mirror has on it. In my experience, thinner mirrors tend to resist this ghost effect - I've had it happen with 3/16" thick mirrors, but not with any that are thinner. The one I use right now is a 12"x12"x1/16" mirror tile that's made to be cemented to a bathroom wall. I think I got it at the Home Depot in their mirror and bath section for about $4, but I don't recall.
I don't know if this next thing would fix ghosting, but I know that a lot of people don't ever clean the inside of their projection panels. Dust and film can collect on the LCD itself or the backside of the glass on the panel. I highly recommend cleaning that with a very soft rag that has a minimal amount of soapy water on it. You an also use a little compressed air, but be careful with that canned stuff since it comes out too cold - it you put it too close to the LCD then you could actually permenantly damage the panel.

SORTED it was sumthing very stupid the overhead reflector was in the wrong position so I positioned it exactly in the middle and this fixed my problem and also made the image sharper.

ahhh...that makes sense now.. nice job Skanders. I too had to adjust my reflector to get the HQI on it, the reflector is leaning downwards not out of center as soon as i find a solution for this i will fix it.
ND,
Is there a place on your PJ near the bottom of the arm where you could shove a shimm or two in to hold it where it needs to be?
Is it a proper fix? No. Will it work? Very likely, if your OHP is anything like mine (3M 9700 portable).

unfortunately our OHPs are not alike in that department 🙁
my sockets arent bolted down..or anything i just put them there and they dont move.. i put them on top on cardbard, i will add some more cardboard to get some more height later on, and my OHP is an Apollo AI-1000.
