Few months ago I took a leap of faith and started flipping through Signal Processing in general, then DSP in the audio domain, the road seemed long and tough, with absolutely zero background in desecrate mathematics, (only a programming background to guide me) I got hold of Matlab, some basic DSP books and did a few IIR filter and EQing experiments in Matlab.
I'm now at a point where I'm ready to apply what I did in hardware, but decent SHARC audio DSP hardware costs money!, So... I decided to put together a small demo board on pref board, (yes that's right on pref board frowned upon for legit reasons)
The Hardware for this project is made up of a ADSP 21261, 150MHz with up to 4-channels of audio, the objective will be to get the processor to boot via SPI and process x6 audio channels with basic processing, nothing advance the point of the project isn't commercial just pure fun and learning.

Interesting...
It will be cool if it can do AC3 decoding or just as a pure 2-channel digital filter with linear, minimum phase and apodizing filters.

Unfortunately, only ADSP-21266 offers the audio decoders, as for the filters that should be possible.
