I have a motorized pot that I want to detect the position. The pot has four-gang two of which are hooked up to the receiver. I was that I can get a reading of the levels by attaching a linear pot. How do I wire that up?
Is this an experiment with salvaged parts or usable system that needs repair. You probably need a controller to activate the motor and monitor the position voltage while it is moving.
Sorry I didn't provide enough detail, It is an experiment. I have a hbridge wired to an ESP to control the motor. Do I connect the wiper of the motorized pot to the wiper of the linear pot? And do I feed that pot with voltage and ground from my ESP?
Linear pot is fitted to the shaft (mechanically) and wired with ends to Vcc and GND. The wiper would then give a voltage according to the rotation. Two small capacitors on the wiper (to GND and VCC) would do enough to clean out any brush / contact spikes.
