Only problem for the Germans is that the same Blue-Ray player I purchased for $179 at Best-Buy was EUR199 = USD280 -- and I got a "cents-off" coupon to boot.
I remember swinging through Germany after they went from the Mark to the Euro. Used to buy beer and throw the change in the jar.
Gave the bartender a 10 Euro note and she handed me some change--I threw it in the tip jar. Had about 4 friends with me and they did the same. We got great service! After awhile, we LOOKED at the coins and they have 2 Euro coins--we were tipping 4.5 Euro for each beer. 😱
Live and learn... at least we rented a Focus diesel-- 1.6 Euro a liter adds up when driving 200 KM per day.
