Wife was very impressed with the electronics mega-store in Munich -- who else would have thought to put a donut (Krapfen) stand on one side of the entrance, and a schnitzel stand on the opposite.

Ikea. Those darn cinnamon rolls get me every time! It's hard to ignore, when the whole store smells of them.
I just have trouble with the idea of eating anything called Krapfen.
Do you have Fry's in NJ? You can buy disk drives, washing machines, MOSFETs, and EPROMs, then stand in line at the checkout next to all the junk food and Penthouse magazines an engineer could ever want.

It put Best Buy to complete shame. I think it was on the Neuhausestrasse -- someone from Munich help me out. BTW, Munich is really wonderful.
Munich: It should have been beer, Wesswurst and Schpaetzle.
I hope you had the time to visit the German National Museum (amongst all the other great stuff)! I cant wait to get back!

She was only the electronic engineers wife but no one could resistor (resist her).

In this case, you should also stay away from "Karpfen". Tastes the way it sounds. 😀

Must have been Saturn...
SATURN München Neuhauserstrasse - Mein Markt
Pretty big chain in Germany...

Krapfen (Berliners!) are fine. 🙂
I like Krapfen/donuts but I will never understand the purpose of ring donuts.
It's like a donut with the best bit missing ie the jam, custard or apple sauce filling.
Yes indeed, he told the Berliners that he was one of them and the rest of Germany that he was a Krapfen. Thank God, he didn't give that speech in Wien (Vienna). 😀
P.S.: OK, I am exaggerating here. JFK's speech will always have a big place in the heart of the Germans, not only Berliners.

Indeed, it could only be the Saturn near Stachus.
Out of all the stores in the downtown shopping mile, that must be one of my least favorite. But I'm glad you enjoyed our lovely city.
In Berlin Berliners are called pancakes (Pfannkuchen).
Lucky JFK didn't give that speech in the town of Rottweil although his wife may have agreed that he was a bit of a dog.

When I first moved to So Cal, I thought Fry's was the cat's pajama's.......until I had to return a few things.

I'll have to disagree. I don't like donuts with puss in the middle (or donuts from Tim Hortons).

Yes, and my wife did her best to pump up the Bavarian economy via peterandl, Dalmayr and Loden Frey

As I'll be flying into Newark in a few weeks, I'll do my best to return the favor!
Worked at the Lift Exhibition in Augsburg a couple of times and we went to Munich for a typical tourist night at some restaurant and then on to some Beer hall. Loved it so much.
