Genesis Physics II ...DIY build from scratch

Hi everyone,
Long time lurker here. I decided to start my first build thread. I'm not new to hifi or diy, just the first time I'll document a speaker build from scratch.
I'll be posting lots of pics of the process and am always open to questions, comments, concerns. After all, this is a learning hub and I certainly am not all-knowing.

Why the Genesis Physics II:
I've read many positive reviews about the Model 2, it's a very simple 2-way speaker with a simple crossover, inexpensive drivers, well documented and has outstanding "giant killer" sound. What's not to like?

How:
Thinking I will build these out of 3/4" mdf to Model 2 specs plus maybe a couple inches deeper, because I'll be adding internal bracing and diffusion and don't want to sacrifice internal volume.
I do like the recessed front baffle that so many vintage speakers have, plus it holds the grilles in place nicely, so I'll stick with that, but the grilles will have hidden mounting magnets under the veneered front baffle for a clean look with the grilles off.
This pair of Model 2s will be mirror imaged, unlike the original.
I might do something fancy to show off the crossover in the back. Open to suggestions.

First parts arrived:

More to come. I'm still undecided on the type of wood veneer at this point. I've got zebrano, cherry, walnut in stock but might spring for something different as well.
Questions, comments & concerns are welcome and anybody's welcome to share their own experiences with the Genesis Physics Model 2.
Thank you for looking.
