I've build a car system before and I'm super happy about it so that's my baseline. With that said, I know there are plenty of differences. I just have some question about where to direct my research as I consider my first build.
Here are my needs:
- This will be solely used for music listening and there will be no single listening position. I also find I don't care too much about sound stage.
- SQ that much better than a sound bar
- SPL 100db or more
- 2 way + sub and dsp (dayton dsp408) for simplicity
- Budget of maybe 1000 for a medium - low end system?
My questions are:
Would and AV receiver or separates work better for my situation?
Any recommendations of designs to work based off of such as curt speaker design works or references for similar build logs?
Would sealed woofers work better for my situation since they will be blended with the sub?
