Per Prof. Leach's math, it's a 0.462 M[T] hyperbolic flare beginning with a ~62.72 cm^3 filter chamber/~24.61 cm^2 throat [St], so will be much longer than its basic 1/4 WL; too long/big for Hornresp to sim in fact,

Given:

S1 = 24.61 cm^2
F12 = 8.8 Hz
T = 0.46

For Ang = 2 x Pi and Cir = 1:

S2 = 608011.34 cm^2
L12 = 3342.26 cm

This hyperbolic-exponential horn can be simulated in Hornresp.

Very little would be gained in performance by extending the horn axial length beyond the point at which mouth Cir = 1.

Interesting, I didn't bother to input this one since the several similar small driver sims I did 4-5 yrs ago kept prompting me I was limited to how large the mouth could be [999999 IIRC], so had to truncate it.

Hi GM,

Hornresp input fields are limited to 8 characters, except for the Comment field which can have up to 76 characters. The maximum mouth value was originally 99999.99 for all horn types, but was later changed to 999999.9 for Hyp and Lec profiles to enable "super-size" bass horn systems to be simulated. 999999.9 cm^2 means that a horn mouth can be almost 10 metres x 10 metres square. This should be large enough for anyone 🙂.

Kind regards,

David

I've tried FE 108 ez's in FH mk3 but they didn't work so well in a +22 m3 room ...but in a smaller room -15 m3 they worked fine. Do you guys think the FE 108 ez unit would work better in a FH lite ? Problem low frequence output ...it was like going from no bas to a lot of bas just by changing listening room.

I've tried several other voigt constructions, with different kind of units and i know about placements in rooms for best output, so that was not the problem.

IMPORTANT: No one had promised me that FE 108 ez should work in a FH mk3 ...it just had to be tried then.
