I think the days of calling a supplier and buying a dozen or so and expecting low prices and stock are long gone for the 2SK389 / 2SJ109.

You are far better of arranging matched sets of 2SK170 / 2SJ74 in the quantities you need for a particular project.

Yes, in any business it is very important to keep the customer's expectations reasonable and assure them that they aren't being overlooked. Constant communication is the way to do this.

I think a revised list of who is still to receive payment would accomplish help.
