Hi Paul
do you have a number of the power chip at the right side?
in your first post you asked for something. are you still happy with the sound of your amp? do you want to build an other amp?

i cannot see any numbers on the other chips but will dismantle it soon and see if there is anything. I was interested to know how people compared a gainclone with say a T amp or other such amps. I am very happy with my Bakoon 11R and just playing with other things I have that cannot compare to the Bakoon. Even the best valve amplifiers I have owned like 2A3, 300B and PX25 don't come close.

one review I read about Bakoon said that at low levels the bass and detail is still all there and it's true, intricate bass lines are still heard clearly, something that most amps cannot do.

I expect it comes down to execution. I have a numbe rof both gainclones & T-Amps. They all vary in quality. The best is an well executed LM3875, and i would generalize that a good gainclone has an advantage over teh antiquated T-Amps

Hi Dave
may i ask you which LM3875 version? Peter daniels?
chris
Sort of. The very 1st gainclones to come out of the diyAudio group buy were used both by Audio Sector and ChipAmp.com.
I have one in an Audio Sector case i swapped for his 1st website, with a 25V power supply with an oversize 225 VA toroid (optimum, in my mind, for lower impedance loads.
