Might I suggest reading the datasheet?
A typical LM3886 implementation running from 35V rails is good for about 56W into 8 ohms.

Play with the Overture Design Guide from National Semiconductor. The gain depends on external component selection. The output power depends on input x gain, in addition to power supply voltage and the particular chip you are using. In other words, there is no simple answer.
