I was hoping someone would be able to assist me with a query I have on some Pioneer HUs. I just got a hold of a AVH-P5700DVD, however the wiring harness has been butchered and I know from the install schematic that there is a fuse resistor on the red wire to the ignition. What is it for? Is it necessary to replace it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

It's a 1/2w 1k ohm flameproof resistor.
I don't know it's purpose. The circuit in the acc sense circuit seems to be able to accept the voltage on the acc input without damage but there has to be a good reason for it being there. I'd suggest replacing it.
