Hi,
Is there anywhere I can get a copy of a spice program fully loaded with tube models?
I find it hard to learn to use a program if I have know how to program it first. I don't need to use it to the extent most of you do, just some simple calculations.

I know, I'm a newbie and I suck.

To effectively use ANY Spice-based simulator I've encountered, you will need to learn some of the underlying SPICE concepts and commands.

In terms of capability and pure performance, the no-charge LTSpice program beats the pants off any other product I've used (including some commercial CAE products selling for thousands of dollars per seat). Download it from < http://ltspice.linear.com/software/LTspiceIV.exe >. It is ONLY a circuit simulator - It doesn't produce schematics that meet the requirements of many commercial Configuration Management systems; it won't keep track of your parts list; it won't help you lay out a PWB.

The LTSpice user documentation is poor to mediocre. Join the Yahoo User Group at < LTspice : LTspice/SwitcherCAD III >. Spend some time going through the group's "Files" section until you find the third-party tutorials and documentation (there are several dozen available) that best meets your personal level of experience.

MicroCap has several tube models, and you can easily add more tube models that are on the Internet.

MC is easy to learn, is very powerful for experienced users, has excellent documentation and support.

Spectrum Software - Micro-Cap 10. Analog simulation, mixed mode simulation, and digital simulation software. SPICE and PSpice® compatible circuit simulator.

Circuitmaker 2000 does tube does tube models.
But I can't find anyone to explain to me how to add more models.
It can be done, But, I don't know how to work spice.
I meant too get some books on it awhile back but never did. 🙁

jer 🙂

I feel your pain. I am also new to spice. I met an electronics engineer, and he had me send him my file to fix it up and add models.
I have not looked at it yet, I am waiting to get my new PC in the mail.

I tried to upload the files to this post, but it did not work. I could forward you the email if you like.
