There is one 40w full range driver available with Boston model no HQ 48413p. It has 40w max power. I have tested them. They sound little better than 48002

There's also the HQ48414 (mentioned by the OP) which is 8 ohms, 40W. It would be great if somebody measures the T/S parameters for this also.
Its difficult to acquire those. Know any dealer in BLR? I wrote to dayton's office in pune. No response so far.
By the way my father praised the Philips sound endlessly. Any truth to that or is it just a myth?

These drivers were available in Pooja Electronics, SP road, and also with Globe (Globe Electronics ??? do not remember the correct name of shop).
IIRC these were available in 3 variants
1. Octagonal frame 25W max.
2. Round frame 25W max.
3. Round Frame 40W max.
All of them were manufactured by Boston Accoustics, And had all the FS parameters printed on the Box.
Supposedly both the 25W models were same according to shopkeeper, as well as the specs mentioned on the Box were same.

I have seen the original boxes. There were no TS parameters given.

The TS parameters were not available on the Philips drivers(use to come in Brown boxes), But IIRC Boston Accoustics one had the TS parameters supplied...

Production of Boltons has been terminated some years ago. The only Bolton speakers still available are NOS units in the channel, and are mostly sub-woofers. Matched woofers or anything else are rare.
That's true. Bolton is no more making drivers since long time. My pair is 12" full range NOS. I could not get more full range Boston drivers. Bolton woofers are still available with some dealers as NOS.

Also available are these imported Tymphany (Peerless) 3.5" 6-ohm full-rangers, suitable for small near-field bookshelves, HT satellites, line arrays and similar:
They're nearly identical to these Vifa-branded 3.5" 4-ohm full-rangers from Parts Express, but with a black woven glass-fibre cone and 6-ohm impedance (Tymphany does not list it on their website as a current-production item).
Vifa TG9FD-10-04 3-1/2" Glass Fiber Cone Full Range
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Any idea regarding price?
It depends on the number of units I get, but it will be competitive enough with the Philips/Boston on pricing, and has the advantage of being usable in very small cabinets for near-field or book-shelf use. 6 ohms impedance is also a convenient load for a variety of gainclones.
They may also suitable for Cornu Spiral horns. I don't need them immidiately but will consider for one or two pairs if price is good🙂

sachu888: In Delhi they are for 266 + 12.5% VAT. In Bangalore the dealer said that he sold for 350 last year so this year he'll sell for no less than 450/-. I bought it. Hope it is good.
Now I'm looking for matching woofers that can go low low low. Any suggestions?

I also bought the Visaton FR 10 - 8 Ohms from Element14 since they were available (and looked the best of the available bunch; I also like the name Visaton and that they are from a German manufacturer). Are they any better than the Boston 48414P?
PS: I also surmise that the European sound is a lot softer and mellow than the shreiking high treble Japanese flavour. Is there any truth to it?
