Power output is rated at 56W continuous into 8ohm. I'm looking at the cheap end of the market (£40 Max for the pair). I know that narrows the field slightly, but my budget for the complete build is very tight. The Mark Audio units look interesting, but are over budget at this time.
A pair of FE103's will scrape in on budget (plus a bit for shipping).
There are a multitude of FR cabs around fo them, and they sound just peachy.
Improvements like phase plugs, and enabl'ing will take them further, and in a back horn (not complex to build) have satisfying bass...
Well worth a go, or find a pair of 40-1197s from radio shack - less expensive cousin to the 103....
of course what fr thread wouldnt pass without a mention of tangband...
Take a look for 'Foster' speakers - the parent to Fostex, but they also 'badge engineer' a wide range of drivers....
PLenty to go at, especially at madisound/partsexpress....
Have fun
