I used Aileen's. It works on speakers surrounds of all kinds and won't pucker or damage the surround. Dries clear.
oh, that's not as bad as I thought.
thanks for the suggestion.
either way, no fees here so i am more inclined to make a deal! so, let's make a deal!

3M Scotch-Weld PR100 Plastic and Rubber Instant Adhesive: Cyanoacrylate Adhesives: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
For anyone else who is having troubles.
Santoprene, which is what the surround is made of, is more closely related to Polypropylene and Teflon than it is to rubber, and is extremely difficult to glue for that reason. All rubber cements, craft glues etc. will say not recommended for polypropylene. The glue linked above however is one of the very few, not heat activated products will work properly.
I will post my results after I use it.

In either case, it's still here and it's in great shape and perfect operating condition.
Will entertain offers from the DIY community before sending it off to the masses.

That's another kind of rubber cement, which according to any source regarding Santoprene will not stick. Every rubber cement I have looked at says right on the packaging that it won't bond polypropylene, which is what Santoprene is made of.
I can not find a single rubbery glue that even suggests it will work properly in this application.
Has anyone else fixed the ones that they bought?
