No, I had not seen this post thank you for linking it for me! I still don't understand if Zhou Fang is dead or not.
Prices are very steep indeed!
I wish these big semiconductor companies would make wonderful Jfets and Mosfets like those again. Honestly I didn't even know k163/j44 were perfectly complementary!! That is impressive!!😱😱

Irfp140/240 and irfp9140/9240 are in production, mjl3281/1302 too (can be mjw/njw, 4281 or 0281).
Micross (Linear Systems) now producing LSK170/LSJ74.

Laterals are loose battle vs Hexfets in SMPS/UPS, so if you need laterals you can use Semelab's Alfet devices like ALF16P16/ALF16N16:
