built by Ed Padden - sturdy case - USB and coax SPDIF input. Edcor transformers - $135 shipped CONUS. Paypal only.

bump - $125 shipped for a reasonable taste of transformer coupling tone. Would be easy to run from a 12V battery
Thanks. I’ve been looking for a Soekris, but may check back in a few days if this is still available.

Well..... it´s obviously "only" a cheap chinese dac kit with half the componets "missing", and signal stolen directly from the dac chip with no filtering.
Also seems like there´s no DC blocking cap´s on the output = DC on the output connectors. Not very smart.

That said, I´ve done the same with top quality passive components though, and pencil tubes and DC blocking cap´s on the output, and even as cheap as this one is, the sound is excellent 🙂

Please explain how DC can occur at the output of transformer.
Ed built a series of those DAC - that first picture was from him yesterday.
Here's an old picture of the insides of this particular build with its USB receiver input located through a case side

Not sure, what happened to my eyesight last night...... my bad 🙁
Missed the sep. psu...... of course these are output trannies......
Too late to edit my first post. Sorry.
With those transformers, this seems excellent value for the price 🙂
🙂 I was expecting an answer indicating mysterious backfeeding by dangerous preamplifiers designed by famous designers.
