The NC500 is a high resolution, audiophile grade, mono-block amplifier with up to 700 watts output. Utilizing proven Hypex NCore® power amplifier modules, the NC500 achieves the highest quality neutral, transparent sound quality. Measured and sonic performance is comparable to amplifiers many times the price, even the very best class A amplifiers. Because it utilizes class D operation, the NC500 is also extremely compact and efficient.
I assembled the amps myself using standard Hypex modules and Ghentaudio cases. I am an electrical engineer by training. The units have been fully tested and all the electronics are fully warranted by Hypex for two years.
The input buffers are standard Hypex. They can be easily bypassed and then driven directly by any preamp that has sufficient gain (10 - 15 db) Or, custom made input buffers can be used. I have bypassed the input buffers and driven the amps directly and found a slight improvement in sound quality. I can ship the amps with the buffers bypassed or not.
These amps utilize the identical Hypex modules as the Acoustic Imagery Atsah 500 and Nord amps. The Atsah received a 5* award from Hi-Fi Choice.
