I have for sale some F5 pcbs that are fully populated waiting to be cased up. boards come with matched transistors from h_a. The pcbs are the long version from suds.
I also have a psu pcb available that I'll throw in as well.
asking $110 shipped CONUS preferred

Is 23v transformer ok for F5
I am accumulating parts to build an F5, already have two 23-0-23 @ 6A plitrons from another project, is it possible to use these for the F5. If so what changes would be required.
Also there are some Kendeil ps caps on ebay, wondering if these are better than panasonic T-UP types.

I believe 23 is too much as 18-0-18 is the recommended voltage.. as for caps just get some with high hours rating.
I understand 18 is recommended, what effects would using the higher voltage have on the circuit and sound?
perhaps an easier solution would be to grab the antek 400va 18V out Antek - AN-4218
you'll be dropping more volts with the 23v transformer, so heat might become an issue. read here http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pass-labs/121228-f5-power-amplifier-930.html#post2392719 that was what I could find on higher voltage secondaries.
I can't comment on how sound might be affected..

Heatsinking F5
Thanks for the link that was very helpfull. I will be getting the 400VA from Antek and save the other transformers for something else.
Question on the heatsinks for F5, I have two large heatsinks which will be more than adequate. I am wondering if I can get away with only using one by cutting it down the center and using each half on the sides of the amp similar to the production F5. Each heat sink is 8 lbs, 12 inches tall, 6 inches wide. The top and bottom plates for the amplifier will be 1/4 aluminum, face plate will be 3/8 aluminum. This should also help in dissipating the heat.

fepie. shipping to italy will cost me $15 extra usd.
gianc i'm not sure if that heatsink will be enough for both channels.. you'd have to do thermal calcs with that extrusion profile to be sure...
