Thank you for ALL of the nice parts

Hi A'af,

I want to confirm that your DAC chips which I got from you has singing nicely now in my Dual Balanced TDA1541A DAC. I placed a thread at http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=117575.

Soundwise. Yes, absolutely got a very significant enhancement compared to onboard DAC of CDPRO2 or TDA1545A based DAC.

I have build Monica2 DAC using TDA1545A and CS8414 which I got from you also, remember? She is singing beautiful now together with my CDP based on VAM1201.

Thank you for ALL of the nice parts. You make this diy will be more fun.

DIY DAC 1541

Hi IMS,

I have been searching for threads on TDA1541 for quite some time. I have also come across some offfering notably from (http:/www.diyhifisupply.com), unfortunately the price of the kit is more than USD600.00 pls postage. There is one group buy from tube-lover but from the threaf that I follow, he has not been reliable. Since you have build one, would appreciate if you could point me in the right direction. I am currently using Monica 2 and happy with her, but I want to try something new.

Regards
Nik

Homemade Torben's PCB

Dear Nik,

Actually my DAC board is a homemade style. I made it last week using transfer pcb paper on 2 layers board. It's quite easy to made. I got the circuit from Torben's website (http://bygselvhifi.dk/files/nosdac/dac.zip). There are bottom and top layer ready to print to the transfer paper if you don't want make any customization. That's just simple way to do it.

Also there are some diyaudio members who were provide the PCB ready to build. You just source some components locally as I did it with my pcb from ecdesigns. John has a website at www.ecdesigns.nl and started a thread at
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=79452. But that's for differential 8 x TDA1541 and it's quiet complex.

I know the other guy (also diyaudio member) who could provide a pcb of Dual TDA1541A as tube-lover did. I thought that their design has a similar topology and I just communicated with Spencer about it, though I take the PCM63x4 DAC (NP D1 DAC cloning). And you can count on his reliability as well as his supports to make it properly. I am sure about this. That's the important matter to me, since I am a novice diyer. You can reach him via email, please klik this link http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1102955#post1102955. I also got pulse transformer and DIR9001 from him.

I agree with you about Monica 2 DAC and there are some ways to tweak her. Yeo has a good forum to do it. But TDA1541 has different league indeed. You should try TDA1541.

OK, good luck to your projects.

Cheers,
-ims-
