This site sells OHP fresnels
I am thinking of purchasing from these guys.
http://www.bulb-source.com/fresnellens.htm
Its the cheapest I've seen but I have not really found many places.
I know they are 14 inch focal lenght. 12x12 inches size. Not sure about the quality though. Anybody had any experience with these guys fresnel lenses?

hey.. I ordered a 11.25"x11.25" fresnel from www.mbelectronics.com it is brand new, it is for 3m 9000 series OHPs but Im gonna make my own box. I paid around $35.00. I highly recommend them. I have never seen a place that sold 12"x12" fresnelsfor OHPs, if you find one please let me know.
also this place:
http://www.optelec.com/ProductDisplay.asp?ProductID=140
sells 3 lenses, from 12" to 26", and they are cheaper than anyone else I've seen selling fresnels this big.
lplease let me know what you decide, and good luck.

Type of fresnel
Hi Goldmoth,
Great price on those fresnels. Do you know if the 3M 9000 series fresnel lens is of the double type?
I just found out that the ones on bulb-source is single.
Cheers,
Exipnos

I think my 3m fresnel is a double lens. It has circular ridges on both sides so I assume that it is actually 2 lenses stuck together.

And has anyone used one of these Optelec "Television Screen Magnifiers" yet?
Well a 15" monitor is 12"x9".
If I remember on alan site, it's was 12,25" before, so I guest it now 12" but for the usable part of it, since there's a little border on the fresnel that are not used. like ,25" 😉
So if the monitor is centered in the midle, you will have 1,5" at top and bottom not used by the monitor so its ok ( 12-9 for the height = 3" , for the length its ok, 12"-12" ). But, the fresnel have cuted corners, so if the cutted corner are lower than that 1,5", you will have mising corner of you're lcd too.

I have alans 12.25x12.25 fresnel you cannot fit the whole screen
in the active area of the fresnel if you can adjust the horizontal size on your lcd it will work
but anyways i have 2 3m 9800 fresnels they are mint and i will sell
them dirt cheap if you are interested in them email me at cruser_1001@hotmail.com and i will hook you up

ok i have got an overwelming amount of emails on these fresnels
wich many ask the same questions so here we go
they are 12"x12" overall
they have a active area of 11 5/8"x11 5/8"
they are 2 fresnels glued together
the lower one has fl of 9"
the upper one is 12.5"
I only want $20.00 each plus shipping
and they are mint
now these fresnels are the origonal parts from 3m 9800
im not gonna lie and say they "will" or "may" fit the whole 15" lcd
these fresnels were removed because they wouldnt fit the whole 15" lcd
just to give you an idea to fit the whole 15" lcd you would need a 12.75 or larger fresnel
the diy labs 12.25 fresnel or the elmo fresnel wont even fit the whole lcd unless you can adjust the horizontal size so if your lcd dosent adjust its gonna cost some serious cash for a set of fresnels to display the whole lcd
im about to order 2 of them and its $220.00 without shipping
but these puppys would work on 17" lcd's
anyways heres some pictures of the ones i have for sale

12.25x12.25 overall
the active area is 11 7/8"x11 7/8"
2 glued together
bottom one has a fl of 14"
and the top is also 14"
and rember this fresnel will not light up the entire 15" lcd
but if you can adjust the horizontal size it will work with out cuting
the corners
heres a pic of it i taped off the area the lcd wouldnt cover and cut
some of the one side to make my encloser smaller but it does not afect anything
