Hi everyone, I've kinda been slacking off because I've been ****ed off because I cant get my damn LCD to turn on.🙁 But I willl get it. 🙂

The question I want to know is if I dont use the split fresnel design what kind of fresnel would I use for a 7" LCD project. How would I cut it and what kind would I use. I mean can you just get a blade to an OHP fresnel or how would it work out. Keep in mind I dont need a huge fresnel but how would I cut it. First of all how do you cut a fresnel and second what kind would I cut. HELP!!
I have decided to go Lilliput but I need to know fresnel and other optics.

Patience first, The answers will come.

I cut fresnels with a dremel and cutting wheel. Others use a table saw. Make sure to wrap it in something like a towel to keep it from getting scratched. Take your time, they can be cracked.

Sandwitch the fresnel between woodblocks and saw.
Use newspaper to protect the fresnel from scratches
Use a fine teeth saw to prevent cracking the fresnel.

Heya JX, here is a pic of my router, they are high speed and dangerous if you dont know what ya doin, but very easy to use, and give very precise cuts, practise makes perfect.🙂

In my books its a projector must, the things you can do with these machines is amazing, you can basicaly do any shape from templates and make very respectable projector boxes with perfectly rounded corners.

make sure you have a cloth down to slide fresnel on so it does not get scratched, i have actually cut fresnels with a table saw, the blade turn fast enough as not to crack or break the fresnel. but what ever or which ever way you do it take care to protect the frenels from scratches.
