Glad you posted that! I found that page when I was first getting into this project, but dismissed it because of the "small panel/poor resollution" issues current at the time. I've been looking for it or something simmilar for the last couple of days because I just got a new car and was thinking of doing a "carputer" with an LCD screen.
My biggest hassle currently is to find a DC/DC switching PSU, also required for the "in car surrveilance system" I'm proto typing for an associate in the security industry. The best advice I can get from mp3car.com is to get an "OPUS" PSU....I just can't handle the bucks they want for that little unit 🙁 Or to build one of their "sproogy" units, which require more knowledge than I possess (apparently each "sproogy" is built according to individual requirements).

Doh! not the page I thought it was 🙁 I had a page that told how to hook up a sharp "DSTN" panel to VGA out puts. Totally n/g for a projector...but would work fine for playlists of MP3's. So I guess my search goes on

Your quest for the best DIY projector is a waste of time. Why!? There are so many different ways of putting this thing together that there may not be one "right way" to do it. Besides... if you ask me 95% of the people on the boards are doing it wrong anyway! 🙂

You could define most hobbies like that. You totally miss the point. I spend hours and hours tinkering with my DIY projector. It would be much more economic to go out and buy an LCD or DLP projector. But that is boring and I wouldn't learn anything!
