kicad is nice - free and no size limitations.
looks to have strong developer and user group support.
and gives you pcb layout capability also.
😉

I'll check them out. 🙂
At the moment I'm using Eagle for my pcb work but I can't find a good schematics function.
The Eagle freeware is limited though so maybe one of the other programs is a better total package solution?

Is there any nice freeware for drawing schematics?
Any sugestions?
Kicad is good. Others to look at
1) geda project's "gschem" at gEDA Project's Homepage
2) xschem is good for "publication quality" drawings

I thought LTspice was the thing, but it is obviously many other alternatives out there.
Has anyone given some of the alternatives a thorough test to be able to say something about how they compare to each oter?

LTspice from linear.com, especially after you set up keybaord shortcuts. (And, gee whiz! It also simulates your circuits!)

Hello
How can we associate LTspice to any free pcb software ?
Thank

Thank you for suggestion. I've been looking exactly for this program. 😀LTspice from linear.com, especially after you set up keybaord shortcuts. (And, gee whiz! It also simulates your circuits!)
I have tested a few different free Spice-programs, and LT-spice is the one I am going back to each time. What I really like about it is the extremely convenient tool for picking up signals from different parts of the circuit and display them in the diagram. It is also very easy to add/subtract or other functions to several curves.

Hi markusG,
What features are you looking for that Eagle schematic can't do?
Just curious.

What designtool - schematics - to use on a Mac?
Hi all,
I have been looking for a freeware tool, just so I don't have to use crummy tools like powerpoint to make a schematic.
Almost everything I find is made for the Windose platform, or has different functions like a focus on Printed Circuits.
I like the Osmond look and feel, but alas, not ported yet . . .
What do you suggest? [I've got MacPorts up & running].
Will be very grateful.
