I misread that at first. So the tube is better than no tube.
The longer the tube, the lower the tuning frequency, so you may be hearing a touch more bass.
If those are external dimension and the wall thickness of the cabinets is 15mm, then the internal volume would be around ~16.75 liters, and maybe a little less than 16.5 liters are taking into account the driver magnet, port etc.
It’s easier to use a 3” diameter tube because that’s the size of the hole.
8’ long,long enuff you might get some vent resonances, but the recomended damping in the vent will largely tame that.
