A lot of reports that these are pretty noisey between settings.
If you turn the knob quickly it's like a machine gun!
Sound like they in fact might not be make before break, OR they have a lot of contact bounce.

Technically, they should be make before break and I looked inside and it is the case indeed. It must be a contact bounce. Even the Taiwenese members complained about the noise and use regular pots now😉
Peter, are you complaining about them ,too?
I'm just about to order one for my friedn's preamp I'm building.

Of course I'm complaining (in more than one thread). They sound pretty good, but the noise in between switching makes them really unappealing. I wouldn't be buying more of them. I have two pcs for sale (22k ea. with slim body style). If interested, I can sell them at $45 ea.
So it's possible they may not be make before break,or they are but the contacts are too narrow and they don't catch another one before leaving the previous. That is a pity.
I would but I need 5 kohm.
10kohm might be too ,but 22 is too high for sure.

Bartek,
Peter and I mentioned one other possibility- That the contacts bounce when they are switched from one contact to another.
If I owned one I would experiment with bending the wipers. First to lower the spring pressure. If that didn't help, I would try bending t hem to increase the pressure. Perhaps someone could try this
I am not talking about the detents, but the contacts.

Hi,
Do they use separate detents and contact races?
Reason I ask is that on the other, more upscale, rotaries I've seen the contact seats serve as detent at the same time...
Which makes perfect sense to me.
Cheers,😉

this link will solve a lot of the translation problems: http://babelfish.altavista.com/ you can input the start and end language and it will translate the site for you. BTW this "POT" site is in traditional Chinese.
