Hi
I have a Sony CDP 228, (KSS151A), with a reading problem
When inserting CD, there are three focus attempts (normal operation),disc quiet, and then "not CD"
What I see is that while trying to focus, there is no current (about R 22 ohms) through the laser light-emitting diode (LD).
I see that IC CXA1081S, output 5, does not activate Q101 (Tx laser current control)
But this output 5 is controlled by the internal comparator of the IC that receives Rx photodiode (PD) in pin 6 foir adjust the current of laser transmiter.
The voltage on pin 6 of the photodiode should be -4.8v,according to service manual, but instead it is -1.1v
Does it mean that the internal receiver photodiode is in bad condition?
.
What does this suggest to you, damaged receiver photodiode, or something else?
Can I test the two laser emitter and receiver photodiodes with a simple tester like a normal diode? How check it?
Thanks in advance
Best regards
