If price does not matter.Or have some heard other tweeters that have more advantages, regardless of price?
Then the improved/redesigned TAD ET-703A, that was released last years is a interesting option.
The built in horn is possible to change by 3d prints or machine ones own.
Regardless of 'super tweeter' choice, c-t-c spacing, and destructive interference from out of phase cancellations will be apparent in most designs.
My budget is healthy but not enough for TAD tweeters. But if none of the above Fostex tweeters, are their other tweeter technologies which, due to their physical geometries and/or other properties, would perform much better (at least in most respects) atop Troy Crowe’s ES450 or ES290 midrange horn?Regardless of 'super tweeter' choice, c-t-c spacing, and destructive interference from out of phase cancellations will be apparent in most designs.

Better time alignment? And minimal edge diffraction if mounted in one of Troy’s lenses?
For example,

and placed in some kind of waveguide, like these?
A particular ribbon tweeters?

And in a waveguide for a driver like this?
Goals:
Near perfect integration with either of the above DCM50/biradial horn combos to deliver highly coherent sound.
Excellent imaging, dispersion and off-axis response.
Wide and deep sound stage.
Capable of beryllium like analytical detail but with total absence of etchiness, brightness, hardness,“hashyness”, graininess.
Superb smoothness, clarity, ease and air, touch of warmth.
Most of the newer ones have bad peaks on the bottom of their FR which need serious notch filtering to make them pleasant to listen to. In fact, most small HF ring radiators have this peak.
How is compared apparently peaky Fostex tweeters? I just finished scouring the web but couldn't find a single user.Visaton TL16H

And here are some measurements:

Thanks for this. Too bad about that Viawave ribbon. Gravesen said its response is smoother than any of those horn tweeters. But its 4-ohm impedance is a problem. I’m striving to keep system impedance close to 8 ohms; much lower and my amp may distort too much. https://www.stereophile.com/content/first-watt-j2-power-amplifier-measurements
Btw, Gravesen raved about the horizontal dispersion of the JBL 2405H. Is anyone familiar with it’s sound??
I will see what Troy has to say about those JBL and Visaton tweeters, though he’s probably never actually heard the Visaton.
As Gravesen cautions, none of these measurements will tell you want any driver will sound like in a system, of course.

It uses a diffraction slot/horn to ensure a wide horizontal dispersion, 90 deg at 16khz.Btw, Gravesen raved about the horizontal dispersion of the JBL 2405H
JBL 2405,2405H and 077 are all similar. The 2450H is the Ferrite magnet version.
be aware of difference in diaphragms, thickness of diaphragms differ between some models of JBL super tweeters, and lack of aftermarket ones.

Just hard to source these days, as they come from Russia.
The 145 GRT is available as both 4 and 8 ohms, with or without 'waveguide' (W nomination).
There is also the excellent SRT-7.
While I’m still without a good tube amp, I believe there are plenty of Russian tubes available in the US, so why distribution issues with this driver?
Too bad there apparently aren’t low distortion wide dispersion drivers being made today like that particular JBL model. But performance differences among diaphragms across those vintage JBL models-or lack of replacements as with the often-prized Yamaha JA-6681B-could put low skilled DIYers like me at risk.
Btw, has anyone listened to the Faital HF108 driver/STH100 horn combo? That’s quite a common but highly rated driver, yes?
Can anyone actually compare its sound with the best Fostex (usually the lower cost ones?) and that Viawave or RAAL ribbon against the above criteria?
