HI Guys,
its been a long time since i played with any speaker or anything.
I need your help in a tiny dilemma that i m in...
I have a pair of Desktop Speaker by JBL - JEMBE wireless Bluetooth, now after some 3 years the surround which was foam type has gone bad.
I had a word with the local service center in Mumbai. Long story Short - cant open them and repair. Only option is return them and get a second pair with 60% of the cost and no guarantee or warranty. I don't intend to do so.
My option is to re-use the 6 + 6 Watts blue tooth amp used in it with some speaker that i could build.
Frequency response stated on the box is 80Hz to 20khz, now all said.
Can i use FE103En and place the small amp + receiver board in the enclosure and use as my new desktop speakers.
or i could use Dayton Audio - PS95-8 3-1/2" or Dayton Audio - PS95-8 3-1/2"
i would prefere FE or PS95 and in case you'll suggest Fostex then would using the standard box design given in the datasheet be good or some thing else small and good please let me know.. MDF or PLYWOOD.
I m from Mumbai India.

I used to have a couple of FE103E drivers in small sealed boxes and liked them as desktop speakers. They won't produce much bass though.
It does not matter if you use MDF or plywood as long as it is braced and damped well. And for a small box it is not difficult.

It would be nice enough. However. Do check out the FF105WK in its small official box, or even the FF125WK. I find these more suited to a small bass reflex box than an 103.
I will keep things posted here... Will take me some 3 months or so to buy the driver... I will keep FF105 AND FF125 IN MIND BEFORE I BUY. but how are fonken plans by planet10 they use fostex drivers and has a mini and micro for 85 model fostex
FF85wk is clean sounding but really not enough bass for my taste.
In general the FF series is better suited to bass reflex boxes than the FE series.

The milliSize (~5L) is optimum for the FF105wk, half that for FF85wk (microSize)
