sorry for this (stupid) question but why are the order in Nelsons amps so

and not so?

is there a technical background?

Edit: sorry, sunlight on screen so couldn’t see the pictures properly. I asked the same question a while back and got an answer that this was the way the chassis was fabbed (mounting holes) and so was the way it was essentially. I don’t know if there is a technical reason beyond that.

chassis is fabed as Papa drew it

plenty of possible reasons why is that way ....... none of them preventing you to mount bridges as you like

irrelevant , as long you didn't mount them ditto on input JFets

A lot of people also mount the toroid vertically on an angle bracket.
Possible advantages, more space, less interference.
