Yes but it will probably last a lot longer than 2-4000 hours and the light output will be maintained for much longer.

Small potatoes guys. Sure it will cost probably at least as much as a bulb for a commercial projector, especially initially. But you will likely never have to buy another one and how much is that worth? Thousands of dollars for somebody who watches a lot of movies. AND it's likely to be at least hack-able to fit it into very many existing commercial offerings.
That would make a decent setup for small projection or dim light viewing. Seeing this, does anyone really doubt that a 15,000+ Lumen LED is coming to a continent near you within a couple of years? And with the way efficiency of high power LEDs keeps going up, anticipate that to need as much power as this one will.
And by the time it comes out, you will have saved enough scratch for a real commercial projector, obviating the need - having had an extra child or two, house, cars, dogs etc... 😀
