Footswitches to feed microcontroller

Hey I've been trying to figure out what to use for footswitches in my project. I'd like to use about 15 footswitches, feeding a key encoder with the outputs going to a microcontroller. The only thing I can find that's readily available are the heavy-duty panel-mount mechanical plunger switches used in a lot of guitar effects pedals. Those can be like $10 a switch, though, and the switch life isn't that great, so I'm trying to find a more elegant solution. I opened up a Line6 stompbox modeler and they have plungers that just press a spring down onto some cheap surface-mount switches. I have no idea where to find a product like that, though. Any help would be great
