folding tl's

I'm sure this has been described before but I couldn't find it.

I want to fold a 45" by 10 3/8" by 10 3/8" pipe in half. Assuming 3/4" thick cabinet material can I simply make the internal dimensions 22.5 H, 21.5 D*, 10 3/8 W?

* 10 3/8 + .75 + 10 3/8 = 21.5
