folded horn perspec access hole

hey guys i ahve a folded horn n its looking shmiiiiggg!!! 😀 checkerplate front with GA SUB cut out and black paint 😀 😀 now i was wondering if i could swap the access hole cover with perspex?? would this be fine?? it wont changes how it sounds will it?? its quite thick as its left over from when we re did our boat windscreen??

I made the access covers for my Autotuba out of perspex, worked fine. Use some sort of weatherstrip or foam to get an airtight seal.
