Focal 8N511

Need help to replace my old focal m/woofer 8N511 of my speaker.
As I can not find new/used pair I try go with other model/brand.
Any info ?

First, what speaker is it from? That may help you look for it via Google/Ebay,etc.

Can you help us out a little here? What size is it, what speaker did it come from, how about a pic? 🙂

Also, are you sure it's the woofer and not the crossover that is broken? What's wrong with it? If it's just the surround, it can be replaced.

Erik Sorry for mis..post.
Speaker was active Klark Teknik Jade 1 that are Discontinued.
Use Mid woofers drivers Focal 8N511.
Both drives have scratch noise. The noice come up with songs at low Frequencies.

Is getting hard for me to find a pair. Last year missing a pair from hifishark community.
Just because a loudspeaker is discontinued it does not make it a bad unit and i was Try to find a solution.

So ask diyaudio if any knows (from experience) any brand and model that combining similar dimensions and similar specifications.

Well, maybe we don't know the 8N511, but what are the dimensions of the cabinet, the driver? Is it a 2 , 3, 4 way? This is why pics help a lot. 🙂

Also knowing the tweeter would help.

Are you able to measure the resistance at least?

Is this your speaker? The closest thing to 8N511 is this 8N515.
Have you though about contacting a professional to make an
inquiry on drivers repair? These aren't burnt, so Re is known.

Twiter Audax hd13d34h... new model exist to replace old one Audax tw034x0.
Dimensions ? Did you mean to measure the internal or external ?
The back side covered with amplifier.

Send twice for repair in my country without results.
Also mail focal for repair but not reply.


For Now I have replace the 8n511 with 2 NEW Focal-8V4412 that find in my country, similar dimensions BUT NO similar specifications.

Qts 0.202

Impedance 10
fs 27 Hz
Vas 105
Qts 0.30

Pay 500€ include matching the new drive with twitter and cabinet.
BUT No lucky again. No good results.

8V4412 is a fine replacement and with the right mods in the XO filter should sound fine.
