Does anyone know where I can buy a pair of foam port plugs?
McMaster-Carr
I have used this before. Choose a cylinder diameter larger than your port for a tight fit.
Are you looking to damp port resonances, or just create a protective barrier against stuff getting inside the box?
If all you want to do is make a nice looking barrier, there's a product available at home improvement stores, it's a wedge shaped strip of open cell foam used to fill in rain gutters. It's very stiff and if I had to guess I would say it's 5-10ppi. A 4 foot x 5" piece costs $6.
I used it to fill a rectangular port, not for any acoustic qualities but to keep dirt, insects, etc out of the enclosure. Such a large-celled foam would have a minimal effect on air flow I think. The foam comes in an inconvenient shape but you should be able to cobble what you need together from cutting it up. It's stiff enough that it can be cut carefully with power tools.

Good afternoon Tommus,
Do you think that some grill cloth material over the end of a port tube (the end inside the speaker) would do the same job as you describe?
thanks
Mike
