Fixing a dented flat dust cap

Forgive asking this because I know there are multiple threads out there, but is there a 100% foolproof method to fix a dustcap that doesn't risk permanent damage and gets it back to normal?

My thought is to use a bent pin -- insert it and then crowbar it back out. Thoughts?

Also, if I leave it like that, does it have any affect on frequency response whatsoever? I can't get a definitive answer on this

Nothing is 100% foolproof but what I would do:

Put a cylinder (from paper kitchen towel?) the size of the dust cap over the dust cap and suck with your mouth or hand pump with deflate/suck option.
Or make 4/5 finger size holes in the cylinder, put a vacuum cleaner at it and close the holes 1 by 1 till it pops back and quickly remove all fingers and shut off the vacuum cleaner. Do not try to remove the cylinder under pressure as you risk to rip the cap off.

I have pulled dents out of dust caps from several woofers. I measured significant changes to the upper frequency response of repaired woofers even though they looked almost perfect. Depending on how high the crossover is, this may or may not be fine. Measurement and comparison to a second, not damaged driver is your friend. Sell the dented driver on Ebay and buy a new one.
