There are many schematics out there, but first you need to think about the specs:
- Active/passive balanced or not I/O
- Type of microphone?
- Phantom power?
- Input/Output impedance
- Gain and frequency response
- Power supply, AC or battery (ie studio or field use)
Ponder that and call me in the morning! E

Hey mickey,
thanks for replying , doesnt seem like popular question hehe 😉 well I was thinking about:
- balanced I/O active.
- ribbon mic or for condencer
- phantom power.... yes please +48 with some chocolate juice.
- impedance input hmmm I would say 2k and output maybe 500 ohm
- power supply ,,, not over 20vac (studio - AC)
-gain 60+
- 20hz - 100khz freq. response.
so Mr. mickey, hope you can help me and direct me to some places with schematics and stuff to read about or give me some words of wisdom 🙂 Im really new to this so any advices will be gladly excepted.

On top of the page, right hand side under "Search" type in "tube microphone preamp" and see what comes up. Also, your post should be moved to the "Tubes" section for better luck! E
Pete Millet has just started a thread on his tube microphone pre-amplifier in the tubes/valves section of the forum..
